Our Hearing Aid Specialists

Hearing aids are a standard course of action for treating hearing loss, but not every office providing them is equal. Without the proper assessment and evaluation, you could end up with a hearing aid that is not the ideal match.
Our ear specialist doctors like to ensure our patients are benefiting from the hearing aids we provide. So not only do we perform careful and specific audiogram tests, but we allow for a 60-day test period with the hearing aid to be sure it’s the best fit.
Drug store hearing aids are notoriously unreliable and likely to be more expensive when you need to replace them several times. See an audiologist like the specialists in our office the first time for a hearing aid that lasts.

Auditory Processing Evaluation
In broad terms, an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) refers to how the central nervous system (CNS) uses auditory information. APD is also referred to as a Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). People with APD or CAPD have difficulty processing and interpreting auditory information even with normal hearing sensitivity. With this type of disorder, one can hear within normal limits, but the brain struggles to interpret a message fully. A child with APD has difficulty understanding orally presented information, especially in the presence of competing signals and background noise. One thing that is also important to understand about APD is that it is an auditory deficit, not the result of other higher-order cognitive, language, or related disorders.
